What is the LVGA

The LVGA is a local digital token, designed exclusively for spending in Lugano. It is not a speculative digital currency: it is a tool to support the local economy and encourage purchases from local merchants.

A key feature of the LVGA is that it cannot be converted back into Swiss Francs. This ensures that funds remain within the city's ecosystem, generating shared value among citizens, merchants, and institutions.

The City of Lugano actively uses the LVGA token for various public policies, such as the cultural bonus for young people turning 18. A concrete example of how digital currency can integrate into the city's daily life.
