Earn Your Destination is a cultural gamification initiative designed to enhance Lugano’s cultural heritage, counter overtourism, and strengthen the connection between tourists, citizens, and the local area.
What is Earn Your Destination?
Earn Your Destination is a cultural and sustainable tourism project promoted by the UNESCO Chair at the Università della Svizzera italiana, in collaboration with Lugano Living Lab as part of the MyLugano initiative.
Through interactive quizzes, each participant — whether a visitor or resident — is invited to explore the city actively: answering the questions means investing time and attention to discover Lugano from a new perspective.
Here, culture is not bought — it’s earned.
With Earn Your Destination, Lugano is not just a tourist destination, but an authentic experience to live and deserve.
How does it work?
1. Choose your quiz
Are you a tourist? Select the “I am a tourist / Sono un turista quiz”.
Do you live in Lugano? Choose the “I know Lugano” quiz.
Each path is designed to offer you a personalized experience.
2. Discover the city by answering questions
Walk through Lugano’s streets, observe squares, historic buildings, artworks, and answer questions about local history, culture, and traditions.
3. Redeem your digital reward
If you answer at least 80%* of the questions correctly, you’ll receive your LVGA Points, the digital currency of the MyLugano app.
4. Spend your LVGA Points in Lugano
Use your points in shops, cafés, and partner venues. Every correct answer brings you closer to a more vibrant and sustainable Lugano.
*Note: The project is enjoying great success, and participants’ enthusiasm has exceeded expectations. However, the availability of LVGA Points is limited: even if you score over 80% correct answers, we cannot guarantee that points will be awarded to everyone.
